The White Doves serve to guide the church youth in active ministry to the local community while building strong soldiers for Christ through Discipleship, Bible teaching/study, and sold-out commitment to the Holiness of God.  The youth of the church are the next generation's adults; without their vibrancy, the church is in-grown.

Aspects of the White Dove Ministry

Evangelism Foundation - Individual members of the youth group are recruited based on personal testimony and observed consistent walk with the Lord Jesus.  Through intense Bible training, recruited individuals grow in the faith that they are preparing to share through personal evangelism.  As a maturing Christian soldier, the recruit grows from a youth into a solidly grounded man/woman of God, actively serving the Lord in the front lines of the battle.

Spiritual Boot Camp - There is no DRAFT into this Boot Camp, all applicants are selected on a totally voluntary basis.  Each volunteer makes a personal commitment with the understanding that boot camp is the first step to lifetime service to our Lord.  Volunteers are required to maintain daily in-depth Bible study, a personal prayer/study journal, develop a spiritual growth plan, and network weekly with other Boot Camp participants.  Volunteers conduct various service projects in the local church and community, exercising learned skills and granted spiritual gifts.  A comprehensive Spiritual Gift Assessment Survey is completed to identify individual spiritual gifts. These assessments are submitted to our pastoral staff to enhance future church ministry areas of service.

Navigation - The navigation aspect is advanced individual training in the ability to share the Gospel with the spiritually lost.  “Real life” role-play scenarios are utilized to practice witnessing in a controlled, non-threatening environment. Scenarios are comprised of actual witnessing experiences, real questions, real responses, providing the most realistic environment achievable.

Homeless Street Ministry - Between August and November 2010, the White Doves witnessed to 125 homeless on the streets of New York City, Scranton, PA and Middletown, NY.  There were 25 professions of faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, of which 5 homeless people found meaningful employment and are no longer on the street.  Upon these professed statements of faith, local churches, which are located via GPS, are recommended to those people.  These churches provide resources where the individual can go to begin spiritual growth. Churches are screened through conversations with pastoral staff when possible.  This street ministry is modeled after the style of Jesus, in meeting the person’s physical need, followed by meeting the person’s spiritual need of the soul.

Senior Apartment Game Time - This aspect of the ministry focuses on building long-term relationships with the elderly through regularly scheduled meetings, in senior apartment community rooms, for the purpose of playing favorite board games.  As true relationships develop, evangelism is presented through natural, individual conversations at the game table or over tea/coffee.  Team members engage those seniors who do not desire to play games in conversation, sharing life’s stories, jigsaw puzzles, etc.  The Senior Games Outreach has grown from one senior apartment complex in New York to a second facility in Pennsylvania.
