The Bible presents a clear plan of salvation whereby you can know for certain that you have eternal life.

There are four basic points:

1.  The Bible says that heaven is a free gift. You cannot earn it nor do you deserve it. It is something God wants to give you without any strings attached. Romans 6:23 says, "The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." Ephesians 2:8-9 says, "For by grace are you saved - through faith - and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest any man should boast."

2.  The Bible says that man is a sinner and cannot save himself. Romans 3:23 says, "All have sinned and come short of the glory of God." Every person falls under this condemnation and thus is incapable of saving himself.

3.  The Bible says that God sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to die for the sins of the world, and that whoever believes in Him will not perish but have everlasting life. Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth and the life; no man comes to the Father but by me." (John 14:6) He is the only way of salvation.

4.  The Bible says that salvation is by trusting Jesus Christ and Him alone for the payment of sin. The moment that you place complete trust in the person of Christ and what His death on the cross accomplished, you have eternal life and are a member of the family of God.
