Psalm 119:11 says, “Your word I have hidden in my heart, that I might not sin against You”. The Word of God is precious book to the Christian; it is our guide and manual for daily living. Because it is so valuable to us as Christians, the psalmist stresses the importance of memorizing it. This memory book has produced for the purpose of encouraging us to do just as the psalmist has encouraged. This study guide contains key verses for each of us to commit to memory. These verses are organized by grade and age and build upon the prior year’s memory work. The older the person is, the more verses there are for them to learn. We desire to have people whose minds are filled with the knowledge of the Word of God, so that we can make wise choices every day. The Word of God is a relevant and practical book for all our lives. This study guide provides an opportunity for parents and children to study and memorize together, for ultimately it is the parents’ responsibility to train their children in the things of the Lord. This is a tool that can be effectively used by parents to help children grow in their relationship with the Lord, through the memorization of the Lord. All verses contained in this book are from the New King James Version. This is the version that the church uses and we encourage everyone to us the NKJV for memorization, though you may use the KJV, NASB, and NIV as well. We look forward to a great year as we memorize God's Word. May we receive the challenge given by the Lord to Joshua, "This book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success." May we through the memorization of God's Word, meditate on it and then live it out in our daily lives. Pastor Neal Guidelines Verses may be recited on Sunday morning, before or after Sunday School, or on Wednesday evenings, before or after programs. They may be recited to a Sunday School Teacher, or a member of the C.E. Committee. All verses contained in this study guide are from the New King James Version. This is the version that the church uses and we encourage all participants to use the NKJV for memorization; however, if you would prefer, verses can be recited in King James, New American Standard, or New International Version. If you use a different translation, please bring that copy with you so that the listener can follow along with you. Awards Program for Memory Work
